The Rev. Michael Chamness has served 5 churches in Colorado, Arizona and Nevada. An avid sports fanatic, Michael regularly gets into good natured trouble with the many Bronco and Rockies fans at GSUMC with his San Diego Charger gear and Arizona Diamondback jersey! Michael loves music, playing guitar and bass for the Christian band Big Fish Story and has been a driving force for contemporary music and worship at every church that he has served. His ministry has included fundraising for the sanctuary at Sedona UMC, Emmaus and Chrysalis support and music workshops and song leading for churches all throughout the Western Jurisdiction.
He is a graduate of San Diego State University and received his M. Div. from the Iliff School of Theology at Denver University. Michael enjoys reading, traveling, his '83 BMW, and virtually any kind of sporting endeavor.
Michael is greatly blessed by the love of his wife Anne, daughter Sarah (20), and son Alex (18). They share their home with Buddy the golden retriever and the 'punky' Corgi named Chuck.
